Beg to differ. there are different pitch angles on metric threads.

It's the same as if you buy BSF, BA, AF, etc. The name of the thread gives you the pitch.(i.e. threads per inch/threads per mm) It's a constant. The only difference is that when you buy BSF, AF, etc, you specify the diameter in fractions of an inch. When you buy metric, you specify the diameter in millimeters.

Just going off of experience working on metric trucks. Every time we lost/broke a metric bolt we would have to have size and thread pitch. And it usually took us a half a day to find the pitch guage. :cry:

That's like our standard threads nc,nf npt. Guess we just could'nt adopt the metric ways.

Bring the old rod with you to buy the die. The chrome tape is auto trim tape and it holds up fine.
