Hey everyone! I'm buying my first GZ250 tonight, and have been lurking around these forums for the last week.
The GZ I'm buying is an '03 with 1500 miles. It's been completely serviced by the local dealer and has new tires, a fantastic windshield and a set of saddlebags already on it. So I think I'm doing pretty good getting the bike for $1000.
I plan on using it as a commuter to save on gas as much as possible, right now I drive an average of 800 miles a week and want to alleviate as much of that as I can. On top of that I think it's a better trip bike than my other one, a 700cc Honda Sabre ('85).
Anyways, I'm looking forward to my time on this forum!

At 800 miles per week, you'll be filling up 4 times per week. At roughly $12 per fill, that's $48 per month in gas.
I don't know what you were driving before but if you were driving a car, this thing will pay for itself in as little as 6 months.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome! Sounds like a great price for a GZ250!

I'll post pictures of it in the next couple of days. The previous owner has kept it in immaculate shape.
Also, that's the idea Jonathan! $500/mo in gas is starting to really pinch the wallet.

 Hey Jonathan"180iq", that's $48 per WEEK where I'm from.
Wow Tehbilly that's a great price for that bike, you lucked out ! Welcome to the forum ! :2tup:
I only save one gallon per day when I take it to work, because my car is aleady quite economical with about 30 mpg mixed backroads/city.

That's still a savings of like $4/day! But yeah, I got the bike last night and have put about 60 miles on it so far. I was expecting a power loss over my Sabre, but not quite this much! Heh. Anyways, it's gorgeous and it does exactly what I need it to, so I'm thrilled so far. ^_^

$1,000 for that!!???!!! Wow, what a deal. I thought I did pretty good paying $1,000 for mine:
2003 GZ 250
5,100 miles
rear tire tread pretty worn
right side bar end bent
no saddlebags, luggage, or windshied
My bike is in good shape and has no real problems so I'm pretty happy with it but... well, you really got a great deal!
