just bought my first gz and have got her running after sitting for 6 years. much has been done in the resto process, and i just wanted to drop by and say i am very glad this site is here! i have a few spare parts as well as some things ive done to mine to modify it, and plan on some "radical" work done to it in the near future. any hints or tips would be great.

ive done the exhaust drill out, and popped the aircleaner thing off (all done before i found the site i might add) but havent redone the carbs. now, ive read almost every post on here about the topic, and some say just a few sizes up to even a 200, and some say just do the needle shim thing. any help on this would be great! thanks

There is no one stop shop for carb adjusting. You need to read a little bit on carb jetting theory and then adjust accordingly.

Bascially, the main jet effects gas flow at 3/4 throttle to full throttle.
The pilot jet effects gas flow at idle.
The needle shim effects gas in the midrange.

You need to ride the bike in the uncorrected stage, determine what areas need to be adjusted and then adjust accordingly.

There is no jet kit for this bike. So, you'll need a set of good quality screwdrivers, a handful of carious jet sizes, a drill and some patience.
