It's a 2k7 vstar classic 1100 with 5600 miles.
It has the oil filter mod so oil change doesnt require r&ring exhaust.
It has the starter mod so it doesn't kick backward on the transmission.
It's running open pipes.
It's jetted fatter for those pipes.
The rest of the mods are obvious in the picture.
Price is not great but ok and it comes with a trailer.
Opinions????

It certainly is quite a leap from the GZ250 to that. I like the look and if you get a trailer to haul it with, it might be a good deal. I assume it is mechanically sound. You are a good judge of machinery, so if you feel comfortable with it, go for it.

Seller is the good friend of a good friend. That and such low miles reassures me quite a bit.
Size? I'll just have to get used to that again.
My ownership history:
kz305
sl100
tz90
ex500
gs1000
gz250
With seat time on:
Harley Shovelhead
Big Dog vintage classic
CBR900r
Specter 1200
list goes on
Asking price for bike and trailer is 4600 smackeroonies.
Not exactly my style though. I'll have to make some changes.

Sounds like a fair price for what you are getting. I wasn't implying you couldn't handle the bike with my GZ comment, I just thought that was quite a change in direction. Cool looking bike. If you pull the trigger on it, I hope your really enjoy it. And as I always tell everyone, safe riding.

They are a great bike...The only downfall was the starter clutch & alot of that was user error...Never touch the throttle when starting....I sold my 99 with 94000k & it still worked like a charm.

Pretty decent looking bike. A lot of folks have ridden or are riding the 1100. A friend of mine was very satisfied with his until a car backed over it. He made good $ on an insurance claim and went to the 1300 model which he adores.
If the bike feels good to you then go for it.

To tell the truth I'm looking at this bike as a commuter. Get in the HOV lane and do 50 miles at 70 mph.
That proved excessive for the GZ.
Occasionally head out on a road trip to Lake Conroe and visit family too.
Likely get a hard luggage case mounted above the rear fender too.
And lastly... If I do pick this thing up.. I'm prolly gonna mount 8 car horns on that headlight rack....
Or two pair of air horns.
Not that the open pipes wont get me noticed.

Auto wreckers have lots of loud horns just waiting to find a new ride.

Welp. I knew the guy took the bike to the dealership a couple days ago cuz it wasn't running right... Before that it was supposed to be running like a dream.
I figure NO PROBLEM! I'll get a low mile bike with a fresh tune 8~D
Anywho. What was supposed to be a carb adjustment has turned into a fuel pump replacement too.
So now I'm in a holding pattern with money in hand :/
I was hoping to have it for thanksgiving but I'd better wait till he has the dealership sort it out completely.
Lastly... Surprise surprise. Stock front tire on a xvs1100a is same as popular harley and the
oversize I have stuffed on my gz250 XD

Maybe it's the angle but that seat doesn't look very comfortable.

Seats are a crap shoot on bikes. But they can be reworked by some one with a little knowledge. I'd bet a months rent that seat is a lot more comfy than the OEM seat for my Honda.

I found the seat on my 1100 pretty good.....But I sat on similar bikes & the seats were wider & harder......The seat on the 1100 custom is different than on other models & not interchangeable.

Of course I would be comparing it to the seat on my Suzuki Cavalcade with it's adjustable air bladder. :D Comfort is very subjective.

Welp...
The deal just went up another 300 bux.
I was hoping to drop the asking price and 300 on insurance and leave it sit at a mutual besties place till I could do TTL.
He wont move on the asking price. He wont move on the trailer goes with the bike. He wants the TTL to happen the same day.
My budget was 4600 and could move to 4900 now has to absorb 5200 bux all in one wallup.
Christmas is coming very very soon.
This absolute rigidity may break the deal.
I've stretched as far as I can so I guess ball is in their court.
I can do 5 grand total for everything but meh. I don't have any more.
Sorry... I'm just ranting :(

Rant away. It is good to get things off your chest if only online. I had to do some ranting to a friend today about my inconsiderate neighbor who is having a great time doing some major work in the apt next to me. All she had to do was give me a heads up about demolition noises and the fact that pictures were falling off my walls.
Back to the bike. If you can't afford the bike so be it. There will be another bike down the road waiting for you to give it a good home. Watch CL and be patient.
