Used to have an old Nighthawk 250 that I sold to move, finally got another bike after 4 years on 4 wheels. I'll be on here with parts and maintenance questions a lot, I bet, though it looks like Ms. Blue doesn't need anything done just at first. I'm in South Carolina with about an 11-month riding season, so I expect I'll put some miles on her. Nice to meet yall!

Welcome SkipDawg. Looks like you picked up a clean looking ride. You are going to love the GZ and I think you are going to love this forum equally as well. There are threads that pretty much address most issues one can have with the GZ and, if not, lots of very knowledgeable people that will help you solve your problems. Enjoy and, as always, safe riding.

Hey. It's a 2003 with about 11k. So far so good but it looks like the choke cable is frozen up /sadface

Shouldn't be too much of a problem to fix. What I would try first is some ATF to loosen up the cable. ATF is a good cleaner and should penetrate very well. If that doesn't work I would just opt to buy a new cable and be done with it. That's what I would do. There will be other proven methods to come along shortly.

Please check the date of manufacture of the tires on the bike. If they are original then just toss them. Any tire over 5 years old should not be trusted. Rubber gets hard and dries out so it will actually get slippery on any surface. Your connection to the road is only as good as your tires.

Thanks for the response! I will try lubricating first and replacing second. The tires are almost new, which is a miracle. Appreciate it.
