Hello,

I just bought my first bike, a 1999. I put in a couple days riding already and I'm loving it. Although I've now been sidelined for a bit with bike problems. (see troubleshooting area). I'm in Dallas, Texas so if anyone else is nearby give a shout.

Work through all of your maintenance issues and eventually you will have a nice ride. Lots of good secondary roads to take for great day trips out of Dallas. Once she is roadworthy, take a trip down to Buffalo Gap and chow down on some of that great barbecue there and shoot some pool. Happy travels.

I will keep Buffalo Gap in mind. I definitely plan on getting around soon.

Welcome. The GZ ia great little bike. My late wife started riding in 2006 with a nearly new 2006 GZ and loved it. Lynda was 60 years young at the time and was a very good rider due to a good riding school and the very endearing qualities of the bike. It let her gain confidence and skills that lead her to a Suzuki 800 V-twin 3 seasons later.

That is basically what I'm hoping for. Although I'm starting to like the bike enough I'm sure I will want to get rid of it.

That's what Lynda said too. After 3 seasons she had found the limits of the bike and desired more. A Suzuki M-50 filled all the needed requirements. Then she handed me a list of mods to complete her idea of her perfect bike.
