Lots of good used ones out there. Just be prepared to pay a load of bucks for one.

I still miss my GT750. Nothing like the smell of a 2 stroke in the morning.

Zomg the memory you just invoked in me...
I had someone bring me a locked up 2 stroke triple back in the early nineties
that I got running again..... It was a 60's or early 70's model.
Someone told me it was, for it's year model, the fastest bike on wheels.
Does someone have a better memory than me.

OMG! it was such a joy to get that bike running again just cuz it was SO unusual.

I think I found the model. A Kawi 2 stroke triple at 748 cc on a wiki page. The one I worked on had been dug outta a garage and the buyer brought it to me. It was locked tighter than a drum. I didn't even throw any parts at it. I pulled the head and started soaking the rings with auto tranny fluid. I totally dunno why I used tranny fluid but it worked. After a couple days I was able to kick it over so I cleaned up the mess and put the head back on with the old head gasket. It fired and sounded fierce. Maybe that's why I have a special place in my heart for Kawi's. Dunno. But Dude was happy.
I wish I had taken that out for a ride but he said don't fix anything else. Just get it to fire so I can sell it.

The Kawi 750 triple was a nut case bike. Fantastic engine but they had a rubber/flexi frame that would make any real hi speed manuevers a death wish.

ATF is mostly a cleaning agent and will seep into and around frozen parts. Dextron is/was my fav.

Now I'm missing my 88 KDX200. Another Kawi of course. 12 inches of suspension on each end made for a plush ride on any trails. About 30/31 ponys in 200 CC's. Gotta love ringa dings.

Good looking bike but can you imagine riding with a front drum brake nowadays. My spine just did a scary little dance with that thought.

My first car was a 68 dodge.
10 inch drums front
9 inch drums rear
3 on the tree shift
Manual steer manual brakes
... and 2 doors
I'd give my left testicle to drive that car again.

Yes, but surely then you wouldn't have the balls to drive it!!

And likely you'd break the other one trying to turn the steering wheel now.

No ass and one testicle! Things don't look too good. Stick with the GZ, you'll be fine.
