Ever since late November the cold weather in the morning has forced me off of my bike and onto the GZ. Riding back and forth to work last year I rode 365 miles. Well, with today being Earth day, I figured there was no better day to pick it back up than today.

I took my normal route in this morning and made to work (6.1 miles) in 24 minutes. That's a 15.25 mph average. Not my personal best but not bad considering I've been off for a couple of months.

On the GZ, I make it to work between 16-18 minutes. At my fastest, that's only a 22.2 mph average speed.

That's not too bad considering the resrources that are not used by the bicycle.

Anyone else have anything planned for today?

That's awesome. I sometimes miss living close enough to ride my bike to work. It used to really keep me in shape without worrying about planning to exercise. It probably kept me out of a few DUIs too. Incidentally most of that bike riding was in Chattanooga. I grew up there and lived there until about age 21. Then I moved to Alaska where everything is way to spread out for that business. I'm glad you are enjoying it and thanks for the contribution to the environment on Earth Day.

I used Earth Day as an excuse to get back out on the bike but I usually commute fairly often when the weather is nice. I decided last year to be car-free. So, the GZ gives me a nice change of pace from the bike when my legs need a break.
