What years are GZ250 parts interchangeable?

I need a starter idle gear for my 2000 GZ, found one off of a 2005 model the seller said he wasn't sure if it would fit, so I called the Suzuki dealership and they told me it would not fit. Can someone tell me which year's the parts are interchangeable please? Thanks (hope I did this right, I've never started a thread 😅)
