My damn micrometer froze up and I cant open it up to measure. Off hand, can anyone tell me the what the diameter of the fork tubes on a 2000 GZ 250? I'm thinking of chopping my bike and Its a toss up between a vintage 10" over twisted springer I have laying about and a set of 10" over fork tubes.

Apparently, 33 millimeter GZ 250 fork tubes in 10" over are harder to find than the holy grail. But I did find them pretty cheap in both HD and Honda. Can anyone think of a reason why I cant swap out the Honda tubes for the susuki set? Been looking at exploded schematic pics and they appear compatable. I want to use the GZ lowers for simplicity sake as the brake caliper mounts may or may not line up from Honda.

I'm going to assume they would not line up. As far as changing the top tubes, just make sure the inner walls are the same and don't have some weird spring stop or notch cut into it that the factory suzuki ones wouldn't have.
Are you trying to drag your rake out?

yes, and Ill be stretching the cradle up about 4 inches to keep the trail reasonable....say about 4-6 inches. The nice thing with these frames is that its a 3 piece. That makes it easy to open the cradle and put a 5 inch spacer in, thus keeping the trail in the sweet spot.
