A good friend just bought a new 2009 gz250 barely minutes ago. So, I need to poke around and see what to watch for, what mods folks do, etc, so I can enjoy the new bike by association :D

I ride a 2008 Triumph Bonneville myself, but I have great love for the small bikes. My friend called it a starter bike, but I hate that term. It's the bike she wants today. Maybe she'll want something else later, who knows. But for bombing around town, what is better?

I'll see if I can't get her signed up over here too!

Hmmmm, I don't have many pictures of me. Here I am with my wife on the left, with some riding buddies:

And my ride (spoked wheels) and my wife's:

I love my GZ250, it's my first bike and at age 45 I'm taking it slow and easy. I can't wait to get skilled enough to start exploring!

PS, I named my bike Lil Merle after Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead (the one and only Michael Rooker *swoon*)

Yay! Job 1, saddlebag options. I bet the folks around here have ideas along those lines.

Here are the kids playing together:

I have to say that my major disappointment is the reactions of 95% of the people that I tell about my new bike. I wasn't aware of just how many people hate motorcycles. So, now I don't even tell people because it just brings me down…..and that sucks.

I love my bike and will take every precaution to ride safely.

Welcome to the forum. The gz250 is a great fun motorcycle and really easy to service. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine. Have fun and ride safe.

Don't sweat the 95%. Many are secretly jealous and many don't know what they are missing. Many are just too cheap to pay for a fun machine. And there are many who think you are crazy but would try BASE Jumping in a New York minute.
Live your life without the approval of others. You are #1 and that's what counts. Live your life for happiness. If you are happy then the people in your life that really count will be happy for you and with you.
