I just bought a 1999 Yamaha v-star 1100.I liked my Honda 800 but didn't like how scarce parts are for this model (VT800) Also wasn't a fan of the 4 speed trans.I can't wait to get out & try the Yamaha.First the drag bars gotta go.Maybe O.E.M. or something with a little more pullback. The custom Candy apple Metalflake is what really caught my eye.Only down fall I see is that exhaust has to be removed to change the oil. There is a relocation kit but it is close to $300.00.Anyone have any experience with this model??

Good for you. There are lots of aftermarket stuff and a lot of satisfied owners of the 1100.

Glitter cherry red... Damn that's pretty.

You should build a 1950's diner around the bike. Bar stools can polished aluminum...

Well done.

Congratulations! You can't go wrong with a VStar. As you know I have the 650. My next door neighbor has the 1100. The first oil change will be hard for you. After that it's a piece of cake. My advice is put a Baron's Bar or other brand crash bar on it. You'll be glad you did if/when you ever drop it. It'll keep it off your leg if you go down. Good luck with her.

Found a windshield & engine guard $175.00 from a guy in my area that was stripping one to make a bobber. :) :)

Looks great! Is it as comfy in the saddle as you hoped it would be?

Yes It's very comfy. It's not a factory seat.It seems to have been narrowed & more foam added.I sat on a few v-stars to compare & the factory seat is terrible!!! ;) :)

Thanks.I love it.The only drawback is the oil filter. You need to drop the front exhaust to access it.But I have it down to 45 Mins. ;) :)

There is an available filter relocation kit available for your bike.

Yea I done some research & at $300.00 not worth it to me.Also I got some feed back of hoses hard to keep from seeping & oil starvation.I looked at a couple installed & not a fan.......It clutters up the nice clean lines. ;) :)

An ill designed $300 cluster of potential problems. I wasn't aware of that. Was this the aftermarket or factory stuff?

Aftermarket.I'm not aware of one from the factory.I'm pretty sure they didn't offer one. ;) :)
