Hi there from West Texas. I recently got married to this black gz250. It's my first motorcycle and i'm deeply in love. I took the msf course in my area so I feel somewhat confident on the bike. We trained on the 250s :) I've been working on doing all my own maintenance and so far things have turned out well! (thanks to the instructional stickies on this site). I am in no way a mechanic but I can figure out manuals and youtubes pretty well :) - so I apologize for any questions that seem stupid. Not to fear though I do know how the search function works!
Have a good day y'all!

Welcome 915elf. Always remember there are no stupid questions. But the odd time we will give you an answer you don't want to hear.
The GZ is a good little bike and can offer many miles of giggles and satisfaction with some TLC.
Now that you have earned your wheels on a training course I strongly recommend reading Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough. It is the cheapest life insurance on the planet. Ride Safe.

There are stupid questions and I think I've asked most of them.
But seriously, welcome. Everyone here is really friendly and incredibly helpful so if you ever have a question ask away. That's why the group is here.
