Hello everyone. I'm Eric from Manning, South Carolina. Most people call me grasshopper. I just bought my gz250 last September. I found this forum and seen you guys and gals have a lot of useful information and hopefully I might be able to provide some. I like to tinker with my bikes and try different things. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a great new year!

thanks for the welcome everybody. I hope you all are having a great holiday. it is a beautiful day here in south Carolina. cranked up my gz this morning and taught my sister how to ride it. she stalled a couple of times but she is new to a actual motorcycle with a clutch and gears. she just needs practice. take care everyone.

Welcome grasshopper, I used to live in SC when I was in the Navy. I enjoyed the weather. I wish I was able to go out for a ride in December but Indiana is not that friendly to riders.
Hope your enjoying the holidays and I'm sure we will be see each other in the posts more than a few times.

thanks for the holiday wishes goose51683. I used to live in Charleston when I was a young buck. my mom used to work on the navy base. my dad is from Indiana so I know how the weather can be up there. where I live in mannig sc I have to watch out for the deer in the road. I had a few cross my path recently but far away enough for me to slow down and avoid them. have a great holiday. safe riding to everyone.

I was stationed a little ways from Charleston, Goose Creek Naval Station.
I have to watch out for deer and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" type rabbits around here. I'm in a pretty rural area at the moment so if I venture of the busier roads it can get hairy. It's cool having nature come so close but it's when it gets to close that makes you pucker a little.
What part of Indiana was your dad from?

we rarely get a drop of snow around here, goose. I wouldn't mind at least seeing a weeks worth of snow once a year.

Coupla years ago I went to my daughter's, in England, for Christmas. Thought I'd enjoy the snow, after missing it for so many years. After a couple of weeks of it, couldn't wait to get back to the warmth and sun. :(

I'm with you Grasshopper. 1 week of snow would be perfect....it's the other 11 weeks that I can't stand.
