I had to take the frame cover off to charge the battery after getting back from a trip and managed to lose the screw that holds it on. Can anyone tell me the size of screw and if it has a washer under it? I'm guessing it was chrome plated as well.
Thanks.

It's one of those fairly common bike sized fastening bolts but it's not something that you'll find at a local hardware store.

I would just saunter over to your local bike shop and they'll know exactly what you're talking about. And, unless they are mean people, will probably just give you one.

Had the frame cover off, this morning, to fit a new battery. the bolt is standard, but the washer is a little weird. It's like a big washer with a little washer glued to it (it's all one, but you know what I mean) so that the smaller side fits into the big recess on the side cover bolt hole. But I guess that any washer might fit.

I think the design of the washer allows the bolt to be tightened without putting undue stress on the side cover and causing undue stress or cracking.

That sounds right. If you can't find the original washer, perhaps you can use two washers of different sizes. If you want to know dimensions, just reply to this post and I'll measure mine, and pop a drawing onto this post.
