Well...right before Xmas I had my first chance to ride in the rain. Believe it or not, we finally got some rain in the Atlanta area and I thought I could dodge the rain one afternoon and go to the local bike shop to get my rear tire replaced. I got there fine with no rain, but when they were done and I was ready to leave, it started raining pretty good. Luckily I had my waterproof riding gear, so I didn't have any worries about getting soaked and cold, but I was nervous about getting on wet pavement with a brand new tire. I knew I needed to take it carefully and make easy turns with minimal leaning. My GZ has a pretty good windshield, so I didn't pickup too much rain on the helmet and upper body. I made it home safely with another new riding experience under my belt. I don't think I'll be as nervous in the future should I get caught out in rain. :)

The rain isnt all that bad other than taking it a little easier in corners. Its moreso the first 10 minutes of a rain shower. Never ride in the first 10 minutes. All that oil and crap from cars on the road comes to the surface and on the water when it first rains. Thats when it is most dangerous. Always wait 10 mins or so and let the rain wash off the road surface before venturing out.

Glad your first wet experience was a good one.

Good advice for the unwary.
