I just got a great deal on a 2001 model with only 1,300 miles on her. Dark green. I'm a battery and fluid changes before I can ride. I'm sure I will find lots of info from this forum, and I look forward to sharing.

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. If it's got the original tires on it you should change them before you go riding. Ride safe.

Thanks guys. I put in the battery today is she started right up. Rode it round the block a couple of times and I can tell right now that I need to search for options on the shift lever location. I have to lift my foot off the peg to shift.

The tires look like new, but you are right, they should be changed just because of age.

The shifter is adjustable. Take a gander at it and you will see the adjustment rod. Loosen the locking nuts and turn the rod to a better position. One end is a reverse thread so be forewarned.

I looked it over and I ended up taking the rear attachment loose from the spline out of the engine. This allowed me to get it down to a usable range. I put on my first 10 miles on the bike today. It is going to be a great around town bike.
