Hey guys,

I just got my 1st motorcycle from my wife for my 40th birthday. It's a 2009 GZ250 with about 800 miles on it. It was garage kept for over a year, so I'll be seeking some advise getting it going :biggrin:

I've been trolling the forum for about a week now getting some tips, and everyone here seems pretty helpful and well informed.

I used to do a lot of my own automotive work when I was a kid so I'm fairly handy, but I've never laid a finger on a bike so bear with me.

If it's been standing for a year you'll probably find that the carb is gunged up. The carb seems to be the main problem with the GZ, so you'll need to add some carb cleaner to the tank. Also, get a battery tender, and get the battery up to full power, because the charging system is not too powerful. Once you get it going properly, you're gonna enjoy the Gz. :2tup:
