I was riding into work at about 55 and the engine shut down (like I hit the kill switch). I coasted over to the side with the engine turning due to wheel speed. Starter wouldn't do anything, turn signals and light were on, clutchengaged, kill switch set to run, and the side stand up. I checked for loose wires and the speedo cable came out. Any ideas on why my bike cut out and won't start?

When the engine stops SUDDENLY, it suggests an electrical problem (fuel problems usually chug chug first) The only one of the safety switches that may operate at any other time but starting, is the side stand. You may want to test this first.

Did you sort it out already?
Feels like maybe a main fuse...

Not yet, the guy that sold it to me is having a look at it. Awfully nice of him. I will report back when it is resolved. Good call Jonathon and thank you for the help. Im a bit embarassed that a blown fuse left me stranded on the side of the road, but I was in a hurry.

Yep, it was the main fuse. There was a 10 amp in there, 15a was put in its place. Running like a top. Time to change the oil soon.

If I recall correctly, the main fuse is 20A. It's the two lower fuses that are 10A & 15A. You might like to replace the 15A with a 20A, like it was designed for. :)
