Whats up guys and gals? Im moving and my manual is packed, so i have to ask. I dont remember but when installing the petcock to the tank, what holds it onto the tank. 2 screws ?? If so, which screws are they, anyone know ? Thanks all.

I believe they are coarse threaded little screws. They go through both the petcock and the tank. The tank is pre-tapped for them, so you need to make sure you get the proper thread.
Correction, there are two small bolts, hex head. I don't have any thread info but on Ronayers they're $1.04 each if you need some new ones.
Where is your bike, if you're moving?

Thanks Jonathan, my bike is in my garage. I had to do work on the tqnk i bought from schooler. Remember him ? I stripped the beatiful blue paint and repainted red to match my bike. Im moving 35 miles away and need to ride the bike to my new place.

What happened to the old tank? You tossed it and never saved the petcock and bolts????????????????? Sounds like something I would do.

You can create a quickie account using an email and just purchase as a guest. It doesn't take any time at all. :)

Thats what i did Jonathan, used my email then just ordered the stuff. Honestly i dont remember gaskets for the bolts that hold the petcock to the tank. Im still a bit confused, and dont want fuel to come out where the bolts go.

See page 35 of the parts manual. It shows what appears to be an O ring, above the petcock body (no part number) and washer type gaskets on the bolts.

I got the bolts and the metal washers, im not sure how fuel WILL NOT leak out from the bolt area with metal washers. I would tnk the washers would go on top of the petcock, in between the petcock and the tank. Alan, my manual is in a box somewhere in the new place unfortunately.

Im gonna put the washers on the bolt then thru the petcock into the tank, thats gotta be the way it goes.
