I listened to everyone's advice and got new tires to replace the original ones on my newly purchased '06. They only had 700 miles on them, but they were also 7 years old.

The replacement tires are Bridgestones, an unmatched set. So now I'm confused about what the pressure should be. The front is a BT45f 110/90v16 and the rear is a G508 130/90-15 66P. I don't have an original manual but according to the one here, the original pressure is 25/29. The shop seemed to think that the original pressure is 30/36.

In general, I don't know if tire pressure goes by the tire, or if it goes with the original bike specs. Thanks for any advice.

I always ran 30 psi front & rear.If I'm riding "two up" I will increase the rear to 34 psi.
:)

30 and 34 will give you better tire milage than running a lesser pressure. The bike should still handle well at those pressures and be less likely to slide on wet surfaces.
