Hello I am new to the forum and amhaving a carb issue with my 07 GZ. Any input is appreciated. I bought my bike used from a dealer in April of 12 it ran fine through when i got parked for the winter. my mistake. i have replaced all the rubber o-rings in the carb except the one on the idle adjustment as i didnt want to mess with the adjustment. the bike is a littlie hard to start requiring a bit of throttle. once started and warmed up the bike does not consistantly idle. Sometime it revs up and will not come back down. When riding as you apply throttle it pops and misfires, loping until you reach about 50mph. Once at this speed it clears up for the most part. The bike sat for approximately three months. I have gone through the carb aproximately five times and it is very clean inside. All of the jets are very clean. Any ideas
Did you take a wire and run thru the jet holes?
Sounds like trash in the jet.
Other than a vacuum line, I don't know.

I have pulled all the jets multiple times visibly inspected, soaked and blown dry with compressed air. I replaced the needle and seat ( float Valve). could it possilbly be in the cv system. I dont see anything wrong in the carb at all? Any other possibilities

Get it started and running then spray WD 40 around the carb and vac line to check for a leak.

If the idle is staying high and will not come back down, this indicates a lean condition. I would bet that you're dealing with a vacuum leak somewhere or a seal isn't set right. Start with the basics. There are only 3 vac lines, IIRC. Pull those and just replace them for good measure. Might as well since you're rebuilding everything else.
If that doesn't clear it up, then you're going to have to go back in there and make sure your new seals aren't bunked up.
The advice to spray WD-40 around the vac lines and carb boots is solid. Do that. If there is a leak, the idle will respond to it.

Hey rustycat2007,
I will be down your way next month.
My favorite resturant so far is JB's Fishcamp.
Do you have a recommendation for fresh oysters and shrimp?
