Hi all,
I am new here. I read this forum a bit before I bought a 2002 gz250. I would say that this forum is part of the reason I got the bike. This is my first bike and I need to do a bit of work to it because the person that had it before me did not do much to maintain it. I need a new rear tire, and a few small things like that. All in all a nice bike and I like to ride it. I hope to contribute a bit here over time.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike.
Tire options are very limited, so good luck on your search.
For other small parts and tips, let us know.

This is what I use:
M906602 Cheng Shin C906 110/90H16
M907501 Cheng Shin C907 130/90H15
The cheapest place I know to get them is: Chaparral Motorsports (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/)
I have my third rear tire waiting to install.[/url]

Well my bike got laid down today. I made a left turn and had the right away once I was on the way, but a college kid in a jeep decided that he could squeeze in front of me (he had a yield coming the other way). Long story short the apartment up the street had a busted sprinkler and what would have been a normal stop turned into me falling off the bike. The bike was not hurt much. The cap on the end of the throttle was damaged a bit, but I think I can fix it. Jeans got dirty, nice scratch on my wrist, and I bruised my palms. Oh well at least I was not hurt badly.

Sad to here about the dump. I as others will caution " always drive in defensive mode because your are vincible " " never trust the other driver's judgement " I only relax when out in the boonies and my mirrors show no one behind me.
Take care. as the phrase goes
" Live to ride " " Ride to live "

The "cap" on the end of the throttle is called a BAR END. They can easily be replaced with aftermarket ones, if you want. They are relatively cheap and come in a million different varieties.
Sorry to hear about your accident.
People always think they "ssqueeze" in when they see a lowly motorbike coming towards them.
Keep your chin up and get back on the bike.
Take care,
Jonathan

Thanks guys. I got right back on and still like to ride, but now I really watch out for college kids
Well, besides college kids, keep on the look out for old people, cell phone users, dogs, cats, wet leaves, birds, bugs, kids, balls, rain, oil, sand, people eating while driving, deer, road kill, squirrels, trucks, semi's, lane changers, new drivers, bicyclists, cows, pot holes ............... etc.

In my experience, it's the bicyclists that need to watch out for the motorbiker. :neener:

If you have never lived near a college campus thank your lucky stars. DAILY I dodge people on bicycles that do not think they have to stop for stop signs, pedestrians that get to an intersection and dart across the road because they are too busy to watch what they are doing because they are on a cell phone, missing green lights because the same pedestrians are talking on a cell phone instead of walking across the street. The list goes on and on!

As one of the cyclist that actually has a tail light and headlight on his bicycle, those people drive me nuts too. I do stop for redlights and ride on the road like I am supposed to.
That being said, I can't tell you how many times I've been buzzed and given no room by a thundering motorcycle piloted by a "get-outta-my-way" biker. Those guys and the guys who drive Ford F-1,000,000s that are wider than the lane they are driving in really get under my skin.
