Safe and sound back home as of yesterday. Lynda and I had a wonderful time visiting Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Zion Park. Pics and comments will come later after a lot of editing and deleting of oops's. We met a lot of great folks and enjoyed making new friends.
Get them pics up man...
Glad you had a good time.
That part of the country is on my bucket list.

Actually they allowed us out of the U.S. when we started running out of money. Got some nice T-shirts and one that will likely be considered slightly offensive.

Call it and see if you can hear it ring. Or maybe someone else will answer it and tell you where it is.

Been trying that. I know I turned it off before we left town on vacation. Time to cancel service on that cell and maybe get another. Still have Lynda's cell to use for now.
Update: got a new cell yesterday. Found my old cell less than 24 hours later. Don't ask where cause I won't answer. I feel so silly!!

These are only a few of the Bryce Canyon pics. They pale in comparison to seeing the canyon up close and personal. The colors and shapes are awesome to experience and Lynda was left absolutely speechless for quite some time.
Sadly the best pics were 25% flomoxed by my left index finger in front of the lens so I left them out. Sounds like a great reason to return.

More Zion pics. We left the visitor center and carried on to the Mt. Carmel Highway. There is a 1.1 mile tunnel carved in the rock and is really neat to drive through. I wondered about the color of the road surface and found out it designated a National Park.

Cedar Breaks view point. This stop was suggested by a new found friend on the road when we have a coffee stop. When in doubt always ask one of the local folks. They are full of info and love to share their knowledge.

Grand Canyon.....North Rim. The North Rim have full visitor services including at least 200 cabins, bars, a post office, dining, the usual tourist traps and the like.
Lots of folks there even past the normal tourist season but most of the facilities were closed for the season except for the tourist center which was large and full of stuff to buy(gotta love that).

That's about it for my pics. I'm almost afraid to wander through Lynda's pics. She is a bit of a camera bug with 2 cameras and took at least 1600 pics. Question #1, how do I decide what to post. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Hope everyone enjoyed a bit of our trip.
Checked with Lynda. 2500 pics using both cameras. Think I'm gonna go blind sorting through them.

Some final pics that Lynda took in Utah.
First the Grand Canyon and a wonderful friendly man we had some laughs with. This is Alan, he was on duty at the gate.

http://s11.postimage.org/x8u2r9ucf/Utah_Lynda_one_970.jpg (http://postimage.org/image/x8u2r9ucf/)
Next person of interest was a very friendly Highway Patrol Officer. Lynda asked if she could take a pic of him by his car. He was just finishing up dinner with his wife after work. We talked for quite some time with him and his wife. Wish I could remember their names.

Now I know how they keep their hats so pristine looking.
Another person of interest was an American Soldier we met while having a late breakfast one day. I don't do ranks very well so I will just call him Mr. Hodgson. Hope the spelling is correct. This one man and his brothers in uniform are the reasons so many of us live in a free country. Mr. Hodgson does not fight on the front lines but still has been to all of them in the last 27 years. I do wish I had taken his pic to show everyone here. His specialty is in the medical field and his knowledge and expertise helps the Docs and Nurses a tremendous amount. He sees many injured men and women to assess their condition by way of x-rays and all the other modern tech equipment in a front line hospital. His results from testing etc likely save many lives and assure the most needy are helped first. I guess basically he is a modern day MASH technologist who has dedicated his life to his country and the folks who defend it. When not on the front lines his time is spent teaching his trade and upgrading his skills. I was very humbled by Mr. Hodgson and thanked him for his service. Mr. Hodgson is a fine polite speaking gentleman and a credit to his country and uniform. When we parted I thanked him again and shook his hand.
