I just changed the front tire, and now my speed/odometer won't work. I see the clips that have to be lined up, and have attempted to do so 5-6 times. I'm not sure if I'm not lining things up correctly or if there is another problem. If the issue is alignment, does anyone have any tips? I swear if I didn't line it up correctly by now, I have no clue what to do. Thanks!

Did you download the manual from this forum yet ?

The speedo drive on the front hub may be the culprit. It has to be put in the one and only proper way or it will be damaged upon reassembly. I am going on the assumption that it is the same style of drive on my Vstrom. Did you get the inner speedo cable to seat properly?
Here's how to check your speedo, well at least what I would do. Detach the top end of the speedo cable from the speedo. Spin the front wheel or push the bike to see if the top end of the inner cable is turning. If the inner turns then the drive must be good. If not you may have to remove the front wheel and speedo drive for inspection.

I do have the manual downloaded, but it doesn't give too much insight. It's pretty cut and dry. I have taken the gearbox off, and the clips inside do not rotate very smoothly at all. If it's as easy to damage as you say it is, my assumption is that it's been damaged.

They should be lubed for smooth operation.
