Is there a speedo light when you're on the low beam? I seem to only have a high beam light indicator for illuminating the speedo. So, when I ride at night, well, I can't see my speedo unless I turn on the high beam!
Help a newbie out here. Is that normal? Am I suppose to ride with the high beam on at night for the purpose of the indicator light? I don't remember the training course saying anything about riding with the high beam on at night.
or do I simply have a bulb out and there should be a light on even on the low beam? :??:
Thanks!

Is there a speedo light when you're on the low beam? Yes. It comes on with the rest of the lights when you turn the key on. Sounds like you might have a burned out or loose bulb.

No reason to have a low-beam light.
The low-beams are always on, so a light indicating low-beam would be kind of redundant...
The high beam light is there to remind you to turn it off when other vehicles are approaching.
I know the high beam is really the only useful setting for riding at night. The low-beam in the dark is pretty puny.
That handy little blue light just lets you know that you need to click them off when you see other cars coming.
Otherwise I was always using highbeam after sunset.

Oops. I misunderstood. I thought the OP was asking if the speedo was backlit and he had to use the indicator for the high beam to see it. I blame it on the heat :)

Actually, that is what I was asking. :) I wasn't actually expecting there to be a lowbeam indicator light. I was just trying to understand if there was a speed light or whether or not the only speedo light was, in fact, the high beam indicator light. I think I'm good now. Sounds like I've gots myself a burnt out speedo light.

......and now the light is working. How odd. I didn't do anything other than ask a question on this board. And yet, after nearly 2,000 miles on this bike, now the speedo light is suddenly working. What the heck?!?!?!?!?
Maybe my wife is secretly stalking these forums and changed it for me! Not likely. LOL.
That is strange right? It's not just me. It's extremely strange that I would go that many miles (some at night) with the speedo light not working and now suddenly it does.

Sounds like a faulty bulb. Get a couple new ones. Install one and keep a spare. You will need it eventually. Those little bulbs do not do well with vibration and have a shorter life span.
