View Full Version : What unavailable gizmos and technology do you want?

Let's have some fun! Surely you have thought of things that would improve your motorcycling experience. Technology and cost may or may not be able to provide the things that are suggested, it makes no difference since technology is always advancing and costs generally go down once something is in production. The wackier the ideas, the better, as long as they improve motorcycling efficiency, comfort, convenience or safety. I will start with:
1) Helmets that reduce wind noise by having an inner coating of noise-reducing material. Possibly a sprayed-on coating to the inside of the shell before the foam and padding are added.
2) Faceshields that display gps and other information. Some cars already have this displayed on their windshields.
3) More accurate speedometers. Cars have accurate speedos, why not motorcycles?
4) Riding suits with built-in cooling. They would have small compressors and condensers built-in to cool a liguid flowing through tubes in the front parts of the suits. There are already electrically warmed riding suits, why not cooling as well?
I'm sure you can top those, so let's hear your ideas!

All I want is power movable pegs and a power adjustable seat (4 way?) so I can relieve the pressure points every half hour!!! Oh, and maybe a 2 beer cooler.....

I'd like a fuel gauge. So I don't have to reset my trip odometer every time.
BTW your #4 is already available:

However the GZ will not pull the load for that one.

Your trip meter is a far more accurate gas gauge than an actual gauge on a bike.
The micro cooling system needs 24 volts to operate. A small 24 volt portable generator would be kinda neat strapped on the rear fender. Death Valley here we come.

What I would like is a bike that doesn't want to wander off the road when I am gawking at the scenery around me. The technology is available but out of my price range.

It'd be great if we could ride motorcycles in the Minnesota winters! But I'm not holding my breath.

But the supply of lithium crystals is somewhat hit & miss.

A flux capacitor on a motorcycle? Think of the possibilites! Of course you would want to take some extra gas and tools; just to make sure you could get back!

No gas or tools needed. Just unpack your Light Sail and read a book on the way back.

The real problem would be being able to consistently reach "Eighty Eight Miles Per Hour!"

LOL. On a GZ I guess we're more likely to get 88 MPG than we are 88 MPH. Might have to tweak the flux capacitor to accomodate that.
