Hey guys! Just got a 2002 GZ250! Being my first bike, I have been taking every chance available over the past few hours to watch it be awesome in my garage.

Chances are other makes have quality forums too, but I do love this one. Checking out my soon-to-be first bike earlier tonight, I found I actually knew more about it than the previous owner did (thanks to several discussions I perused on this site)! My friends came up to check it and they absolutely approved. What a sweet bike!

I don't think I could be more satisfied with my purchase.

Welcome Andrew. You do sound like a happy new owner. If you have been lurking on the forum then you know what we will say about rider training and wearing proper safety gear.
Read about Burkbuild's low speed get off posted yesterday. It is an eye opener.

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. If you haven't already I'd recommend you take rider safety course. It's the best investment in your safety you can make. Ride safe.

Looks great! Welcome to the forum! I also highly recommend the MSF basic rider course, or whatever rider safety courses you have in your area. You learn the basics, meet great people, and have a blast!

Andrew!
Mine is 2000, same colour than yours, and let me tell you, i purchased it in january, with cca 8470 km on it, today he has 10210 and something... The good feeling about the bike is that my friend, who also knows my mechanic, who was real cool and told me a bunch of things about my bike, told my friend, that i made a real good buy, and the bike is splendid. It's all good and i'm reallly satisfied with the bike, i'm sure you'll be too!

I do very much like the emblems, and the GeeZer is great so far!

I was recommended to get this -or a Virago- as my first bike, by an old motorcycle guru, who has owned eleven motorcycles in his time, convincing me to stay away from a Ninja and other sport-bikes. The GeeZer has great visibility, a smooth ride thanks to an up-right position, and suspension. It handles really well on the dirt roads near me. I can also look forward to taking a girl or two for trips through the country! It has -so far- been a lot of fun to work on and learn about bikes with, and I can't wait to test the seat during a long trip.

Please be patient and gain some skills and saddle time before carrying a passenger. It is a whole new ball game with 2 bodies on a bike. I will make this suggestion. Wait till next season before having a passenger, you need to be experienced with the bike yourself. Never forget that you are responsible for the safety of your passenger and yourself.

WOW what an amazing bike... and the Black one are really fast (second only to the 2007 BLUE ones like mine).

Yes, be patient Grasshopper... get some saddle time before you attempt two up and when your ready to try it - get a buddy with quick reflexes to practice with you. I don't think the pillion is long enough to get two girls on at the same time, but, good luck with that!!!

LOL I only meant one girl at a time, I'll have to leave the others at home..

Yes I will wait before I take passengers, besides, with only my Canadian M1, it is illegal for me to carry one. Having been one myself I know how sluggish a bike can become, and if the passenger doesn't lean with you, you can be caught off guard.

Thanks for the compliment mate!
