Hello everybody my name is Richard, I used to ride a 2008 600 Gsxr, I crashed that bike so i was bikeless for almost 2 years. I live in California where it costs you an Arm and a Leg for gas. I decided its time I look into buying another bike...at first i wanted a sports bike. My girlfriend and Parents both said NO...So then my friend from work said Hey check out my gz250 i get almost 75 miles to the gallon...I went on craigslist and started saving. After almost half a year of 1999 bikes costing 2500 i finally found a 2009 gz250 for 2000 it only had 4000 miles so i thought...hmm what's the catch right? Well I went with cash in hand on my birthday to check out the bike and sure enough I fell in Love with it. Since it was my birthday the guy actually knocked 100 dollars off he said for gas...he offered to tow the bike for me...first thing I thought was NO...if I cant ride it home then something is wrong. The guy explained to me about his first time on the freeway and said that after about 2 miles he felt all the 18wheelers passing him he got really scared. I appreciated his concern but said to him NAH MAN I GOTTA RIDE HER HOME...So i drove from San Diego to Fullerton...for those of you who dont know its almost a 2 hour drive. Well Its been 2 weeks and I still have not found anything wrong with my bike It came with saddle bags which help when I need to transport food or jackets, my gsxr barely had enough room under the seat for a sandwich. So I'm 24 years old I have had this bike for 2 weeks and a few days, I already put 500 miles on it. This is the first Forum that I have joined. I plan on going on awesome adventures with my bike. I don't have pics yet but i'll post some soon.

Hi there,
Just remember that Suzuki decided to bugger up a great bike by putting the worst carb they could find, on it. Get a can of carb cleaner, and add it to the tank of fuel every few fill ups. It'll save you a lot of heartache. :2tup:

Hi and welcome! Glad you're having such a great time on the gz. One of these days you'll have to tell us what happened to that gsxr. I hope you weren't hurt!

Welcome !! Wow, I read your bike purchase, and I guess i'm extremly fortunate that I stole my '00 clean GZ250 (also with 4400 mi) for $1400 with the addition of about $150 in some needed repair parts. Bikes out west resale for HUGE money ! Enjoy the bike and enjoy the amazing fuel economy !
