Hey guy's,
Just bought my first street bike, 2007 GZ250, barely 7000 miles on it, I will post a pic soon. Also the person that had it before cut the pipes right after the Y also he did the jets for it, is there anything else that needs to be done on it or should I be ok?

Welcome from the GWN. For $1500 I'd put a GZ in the stable again.

Welcome from Sunny Florida. You'll really enjoy the GZ, I do mine. These are really great folks on here so don't be afraid to ask questions. Amazing all the smart folks and good advice.

I just bought my GZ250 about 2 1/2 weeks ago for $1400... had 9730 miles on it when I bought it and looks brand new as well... I'm really liking it so far, it took a little getting used to since I'm used to my XS1100, but the GZ is starting to come around to how I want it to run (I haven't changed anything - just putting some miles on it getting used to it...)

Hi and welcome! Sounds like a great buy. Did you mean that you have no muffler? I'm a little confused. If you're new to street riding, I'd suggest getting a copy of "Proficient Motorcycling," by David L. Hough. Lots of tips and info there to keep you alive on the streets.

Welcome to the site. If you don't have a muffler or even a muffler that meets the original specifications for noise reduction you are not street legal in any state in the union (federal law) Other than that you should be fine. Enjoy and be safe.

Yes. Throw that franken-hacked exhaust in the garbage, and put a STOCK exhaust back on ! You can potentially burn the exhaust valves with an "open" exhaust, you are probably loosing hp, poor fuel economy, and not to mention the sick loud obnoxious exhaust.

Im buying a muffler tomorrow and gonna clamp it on after i cut the stock muffler off and pray i dont have to mess with the jetting. I cant take the sound anymore, i dont even want to ride this bike because of the sound. Other then that the bike is great.
