Engine interchangability, what years are the same?

The posting title sums it up. I need to know what years interchange with the 2001 GZ250. I just want to put a good stock engine in the bike and get it back on the road. All my bits are good, minus the engine.

I don't know of any difference in any year model.

There may have been an internal head change in one year, but the outside and hook up has not.
