Hey WW, sorry you are snowed in, however, Spring doesn't officially arrive for about another 20 days, and well, you do live in Canada. ;)

Stay safe.

Very true BB but I moved away from the prairies to get away from the official winter B.S.

At least I got to wear my water proof, snow proof riding boots yesterday. Had a longish walk and figured the old sneakers wouldn't be the ticket.

Here got crazy this year, winter came late, to weeks ago we still had nonstop minus 10 degrees celsius or less, yesterday it was 6 degrees in the morning and during the day already 18 degrees celsius. Crazy... but i like it now! I just hope next sunday will come soon with nice weather to ride!

Friend of mine went to pick up his Wing today at a dealer after it was serviced and waiting for him for a number of days. Coming home he had ice crystals and hail storms to ride through.

He was not cold. A 2009/2010 Honda Gold Wing has great protection and dressing a bit for cooler temps was all he needed.

I'm not familiar with that term. Just did a quick search. Large tourist oriented motorcycle/scooter with all the comforts of home. The Gold Wing is big, powerful and very sophisticated. A 1800 cc six cylinder engine that is amazing in it's power delivery with great smoothness at all RPMs. I would like to ride one but if I dropped it I could never pick it up.

My search brought up many German sites and my German is nonexistant so I tried to make reasonable assumption with some imagination and foolishness. VW makes some beautiful cars. Lynda's son has a Jetta that is just a dream to ride in. Very comfy and smooth riding. My choice would be a Golf if I was in the market for a VW. I do like the body style and they are roomy enough.

Me and my girlfriend own Passat, caravan, diesel, 1,9 TDI, it's a great car, comfy, roomy and solid and my average consumption is 6,3l/100km.

The Passat is a highly rated car wherever you go. You have the comfort of a car, the utility of a caravan and great economy as a bonus.

yup! Although just today my blinkers are sounding crazy when i turned them off, although the lights are not blinking. It must be the switch or blinkers mechanism... there goes another 50 €...

Funny, you see a lot of German cars here (USA) - VW, Audi, Mercedes etc. but you never see a French car like Citroen, Peugeot, or Renault. Come to think of it, also Lancia, Alfa and Fiat you never see here.

PS weather in MD has not been too bad recently, I rode like two hundred miles last month  more than ever in February!

It has a lot to do with market share and emissions. Not enough profit to make a few cars for North America and get them certified as emission free or low emission vehicles.

Our Citroen C3 has a low emission. No major problems (apart from an injector broke down, last year) in 9 years. Nearly 90,000 Km on the clock, & running fine. It's 1400 cc, great fuel economy, cheap local taxes & insurance, carries 5 people plus luggage, cruises happily at 80MPH+ on the autopista. All in all there's nothing I can complain of, about the car.

Seems strange that you can't get them in America, yet The Fonz led the advertising campaign on English TV.

The C3 and cars similar to it may not be big enough or powerful enough for North Americans. We tend to do things in excess compared to the rest of the world. Why be sensible when you can own a large gas guzzling monster to drive across town. Been there done that. Still doing it a bit. Why do I own a 4 liter V-6 Ranger 4x4 to drive on hardtop to the store ??
