I am in the process of repainting my gz and I have a question regarding the rear fender. I would like to remove the metal frame from under the plastic fender but there does not seem to be an easy way. I have it off the bike but the bolt holes seem to be mated to the plastic?????? Has anyone done this before?

thanks.

There are 2 bushing that were stuck well, I accidentally banged the fender and they popped out....go figure. Now to the painting...of which I suck at. But the labor is free. :2tup:

I will post a pic after its done. Still want to put dragbars on it. Might try the cheap and easy route of using 19mm long shaft sockets for the risers.

Oh, I also replaced the front fender with one I refurbished from a suzuki savage...cost me 14 bucks.

Don't even think about brushing it on. You'll show every brush stroke. If the paint doesn't come in a rattle can you'll need to get hold of a sprayer, and buy the correct thinner to thin it down for spraying, and to clean the sprayer when you've finished. :) Remember, several thin coats, with drying time between each, is the way to go. Cuts down on runs and drips.

You can do a good job with a spray can.I painted mine with Dupli-color black with 3 coats of clear.

I like it too, and the white is nice to the eye for me.
