Is there anything simple i can do to the bike to increase horse power. yes I know it is still going to be a 250. A special air filter, spark plug. forgive my ignorance. but thank you for being so kind.

This had been discussed ad infinitum and if you do a search under GZ Performance Mods you see all the posts.
To answer you in one word, the answer is NO.

The GZ is what it is. Learn to love the bike for what it is. Capable, reliable and a heck of a sweet ride without breaking the bank.

If you check under "performance mods" there are carb mods that are quite beneficial. These bikes are very lean from the factory, and a simple thing like a idle mixture adjustment will make a big difference.

second the carb mod. did it to the wife's GZ. gas mileage went down a bit, but it is a stronger engine.

Thanks, but I have decided it is what it is. By the way, what kind of mileage should I expect? I have to figure out how to slow my idle as well, hopefully that will help. Thanks

(1) mid 60s to low 70s, depending on riding conditions.
(2) Big white knob under the carb.

The only way to increase the HP of the GZ is to raise the gas cap and slide something bigger under it.
Thats what I did and it made a BIG difference...

I read some of the old posts and yeah, members have changed, propably moved on to bigger bikes. I hope that i'll stick around even when i progress, cause it's great here. Alhough, little time i'm here with you guys, am i the only one who misses gz rider. His posts are replaced with ... . What happened, did i miss something or was the bullying topic the reason he moved away?

I suppose I could be paranoid, but I'm still convinced that gz rider & easy rider were one & the same person, just trying us out. When I put that in reply to one of his posts (can't remember which) I recall that he didn't deny it. :??:

Different people I think. ER couldn't be that polite for any length of time. And yes, GZ Rider is missed. We loose some, we gain some. Life goes on.

yes....but he did seem to get a bit errr "argumentative" towards the end. Did the politeness slowly evaporate? :retard:

My one particular med has been working for 12 years now and I refuse to stop taking it. I like myself just the way I am now.
