OEM Saddle bag supports

I just got OEM saddle bag supports (99950-70534) off of ebay for a good price. I know the install is straight forward, but I like having a diagram or instructions. Does anyone have info or can tell me the torque lbs and where to put the 4 washers ??? Thanks in advance.

PS, I got the supports now, still looking for bags, hopefully during Bike Week I will find something

You have to use the enlargement feature( + or - )to really see the pic properly. Look at the tail section of the frame, it has a bolt and the nut/washers displayed.

OK, thanks. I am just going to replace the stock bolts with the new longer ones, putting a washer on each side of the support. Thanks for the reply

If I remember this install from 3-4 years ago - one important helpful item is to remove and replace one bolt at a time - do one, then the other. If you remove both bolts at the same time it's a bitch to realign everything to replace them and get it all back together.
Another helpful hint is to raise the shock up to it's highest level which will give you another inch of more of room under the fender and above the tire to get your fingers and the bolt and wrench in there to tighten it all up again.

Another helpful hint. When working on the right side you will find it easier to reach in side the fender from the left side. Up and over the tire with your entire hand instead of trying to use fingertips on the right side between the tire and fender. Reverse the whole procedure for the other side. I found this worked for very well after fighting with poor grip and dropped tools.

we also recently installed the OEM bag supports and a set of tourmaster bags on my wife's GZ (she helped ! :2tup: )

A few fitment comments, there has been some confusion as to why the listing for the oem support kits starts from the 2005+ model years. I can tell you the '05+ kit fits the older GZ's as well, HOWEVER I had an issue with the brackets interfering with the chrome fender support covers. I also observed the new bolts are too long. Long story short all's you need to do is add a few 8mm washers on top of the nylon spacers to get everyting to fit nicely. A tip to gain more room when feeding the bolts from inside the fender is to jack the rear of the bike off the ground.This allows more space to get your hands up inside the fender to get a wrench on the bolts. If anyone wants I can post some pics of a "saddlebag" how-to post. I also had to grind slots into the front mount holes of the passenger seat pad to get the bolts in after the addition of the throwover bags.
