5 miles per gallon !! It couldn't outrun a GZ in a race to StarBucks. Interesting toy but very impractical.

This is a fun thread that I must have totally missed.

I came very close to buying a VTR250 one time, but decided not to make a 3 hour drive for a bike that needed work.

I've always been a big fan of the smaller bikes, but that doesn't keep me out of shopping for some older at-one-time-awesome-as-shit 600s.

Here's an '88 FZ600
http://i47.tinypic.com/2i0q7ts.jpg

And a Kawa GPX600
http://i46.tinypic.com/2mwtgcm.jpg

Keeping with the Kawa line, I always wanted an original GPX250 to go along with my 2003 Ninja 250.

This is the Predecessor to the best selling little bike of all time.

My first bike, afterall, was a 2003 Ninja 250, which is a hold-over design from the 1988 model

At one time, Kawasaki had a kick-ass little 250 cruiser that I would love to scoot around on. It was called the Eliminator 250 (EL250)

Great pics Jonathan. I have noticed in the last couple years that a lot of these smaller slightly used bikes are hitting the streets. A lot of them are Grey Market bikes from overseas and a delight to see up close and personal. Last year a gal showed up on a 400cc 4 cylinder Bandit. Suzuki just shrunk a bigger bandit by the looks of it. Kinda neat.
Too bad the the Kawi 250 Eliminator didn't last, it was likely a good bike but not big enough in the North American market.

Went for a ride to get printer ink. 3 hours later I stopped at my coffee stop for a visit. Looked like a bike show for a while at Star Bucks.

Theolder GW is an84 that my buddy bought last year. A week of cleaning and tweaking led to a 14,000 mile trip.

The SV 650 in black belongs to an x racer in the 1000cc class. A fork brace with new aftermarket suspension parts and engine tweaking has made this a sport bike killer in the twisties.

The Suzuki minus some of the tupperware is an awesome machine. A friend owns it and rides almost daily. Egine and frame mods have made it into a super quick super fast machine. The Team logo on the fairing is in honor of all the squids who ride in sandles and T-shirts.

Last but not least is Smiling Larry's latest toy. A 3 day old 2012 HD. An absolutely beautiful bike when the sun glints off the paint and chrome.

There is a dirty blue Vstrom in there too but Not parked close enough that it will devaluate any other bikes.

Oh man I love the bandits! I was going to include the Bandit along with the Yamaha Seca II, but that's getting more into the 90s when they started looking good ;)

The EL250 is the Ninja 250 motor on a cruiser frame. I mean..... that's rad.
You can see how they funked up the exhaust by making it run down the passenger side of the engine, behind the motor and in front of the rear wheel, exiting on the driver's side and then flaring out. Whatever though, it was an awesome little machine. I'd love to have one.

The EL250 had a Ninja power source. Awesome. That would have made it a very capable small bore touring bike.
