My shifter has seemed a bit hard, as in I can feel alot of clanking when I shift. I was out riding today and it started shifting from first to neutral and it wouldnt go in to second without me reaching down and using my hand. I got it home by only downshifting to second. Is there fluid to make the shifts smooth? If so, I'm thinking it might just be low. If not, is this a clutch problem?

That would be your oil. Do you know when it was last changed? Do you see any in the sight glass? How long have you owned the bike?

Ive owned the bike about two months. I topped the oil off last night, but I havent changed the oil since I've had it.

I'd drain the old oil and put in fresh oil and a new filter and see it that helps. Out of curiosity, how much oil did it take to top it off? And by top it off, you mean seeing the proper level in the sight glass window when the bike is being held straight up, not on its side stand, right?

Right, it didnt take much. It wasnt really low, just wasnt at the max.

Had you noticed any heavy clunking or anything weird prior to this most recent event?
Also, how many miles on the bike. Sometimes you just need to adjust the position of the shifter for your foot to get it to catch right. They do loosen up over time.

Theres around 3700 miles on the bike. Ive noticed it a bit, but it has always shifted ok until today.
