A perfect day for a short ride.

This why they are called the Great Smokey Mountains.

A good little 65 mile ride.
Thanks Gz Rider.
The Foothills Parkway is a fun 18 mile road.

I did all of the Blue Ridge and Skyline Drive a couple of years ago on the GZ.
We did 1400 miles Fri. Sat. Sun and home Monday noon.
I have a few pictures on another of my ride reports.
One day we did over 400 miles.
Good times.

Right on. Great pics of the countryside. How do you like the handling characteristics of the SV ??
I feel like I have wasted 5 years of riding.
The SV handles like a point and shoot, that's all.
Very neutral seat and peg position.

5 wasted years !! No way. You just found a bike good enough to have it's own racing series.
Well, I will say it is different in a good way.

Nice shots, Jerry!
Are you saying the SV handling is just too boring?
Handling boring???
Naw, just steer it with your knees, and work the fun handle.
I will throw up some pictures from our ride to the Moto GP in Indy last month.

Nice looking track. Have you ever considered taking a track day course and learning how good the SV can be when pushed to YOUR limits ?
A track day would be fun and a great way to get a better feel for the bike.
A lot of the roads that we ride have no side roads or houses on them, thus less distractions.
This is where we do most of our spirited riding.

Looks like a fine day at the track, Jerry! Who's your friend?
I guess I just misunderstood your statement about 'wasted 5 years'. Have you owned the SV for 5 years, or have you ridden something else for 5 years when you could have been riding the SV?
After a long lapse I started back riding 5 years ago.
Just got the SV. Had other bikes.

Yes.I was wondering if he sold his Vulcan,or traded on SV.
:)
Yes, traded. I just put a new set of tires and a new battery on the Vulcan.
Each bike that I traded has had new tires...maybe a clue???
So this one got new tires when I got it, change things around??
I tried a Yamaha FZ1, I couldn't think nearly as fast as it would go.

That's good.Saves doing it again on the SV,when you just done it on the Vulcan.Enjoy the new ride.
:)
Thank, I know this bike will do what I want for this riding area.
