I think it does... I am trying now to figure out what to use on those bags other than wood to keep them at that level. and not mess up any finishes on the bike. I was thinking maybe a bracket that attaches to the studs where the chrome rear fender cover goes and then just an angle or something to hold the squared shape... but i haven't decided yet. i like the bags up there tho they look better than those droopy ones.

Mine came with ¼" thick, cardboard, thingies that sit inside the bags (sort of U shape to fit the size of the bags) I think they were, originally, so that they looked a nice shape on the showroom shelf. I've never bothered taking them out, & the bags have kept their shape.

The wood i was speaking of is right above the chrome guard on the side between it and the leather i inserted (2) 2X2 p.t. boards under the leather so the bags didn't sag. I like the way the bags are dead level with the bottom of the rear seat. but even after making new holes and re-strapping the bags they drooped a little so i added a blocking method to hold the straps and bags up.

Do you have saddle bag supports already?

Just extend something from the bottom of the support down far enough to reach the bottom of the bag and then out so that they act as a support to hold them up.

You could always just make your own saddle bag support brackets, like Tonckawa did, and modify the design to work as a lift as well:

I am not having any problem with them getting too close to the wheel only a problem of them drooping too far down so i made a support that holds the bag straps higher so that they sit level with the bottom of the seat. I was thinking something like this would do it...

using 2 3/4" long bolts to hold them to the bike

You are lifting them from the top side. I didn't get that before.
What you have drawn there is a pretty darn good idea. Go for it.

will see what i can do next time I am in North GA it is a project bike currently it runs and everything I need to set the timing and run some MMO in it to get the hydraulic tappets in shape but i had to rip the front faring off it when i got it because it was wrecked before i got it. so i need a headlight turn-signals and gauges and a windshield for it before it will be road worthy. Cosmetically it needs a seat repair and the false tank has faring ears that need to be chopped and re-glassed to smooth it out and contour to the bottom so that u cant see the wiring harness. Was my father in-laws bike he rode it all the time but he had an accident and eat tailpipe so he broke some bones and such but was making a full recovery when he passed a clot because they didn't put a filter in his leg when they were operating.... and he is in a better place now. But I want to make a commemorative bike out of it that I can ride in his honor. He was a great man. I just hope that I can make it worthy of comemorating him. Then i wanna take a long ride through the mountains just to take it all in. and enjoy the bike as he would be doing.
