Hello all,

I just moved to the Macon/Warner Robins, GA area and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good GZ mechanic?

My favorite mechanic from Georgia lives in my house.... me. ;)
I'm in Dalton.

I am not a "GZ Mechanic" Just a Mechanic I can work on just about anything. I can try to help you out if you are willing to try to fix it. I live in Eatonton, Ga just northeast of you. I have a 2003 GZ250 and have had to get it going from a farm yard so i know a little on the subject already.

I have been turning wrenches on her, I am just concerned about the valves and she has oil on the bottom of the engine and the gear shift side. It doesn't leak oil when parked. The macon dealer has a new 2010 that I have inquired about; my bike is a '99 with 6900 miles on her; I bought her used and she was very neglected.

what are you worried about it seems all to easy to set the valves on these bikes... maybe it just what i am comfortable v.s. what others are comfortable
I am gonna be doing my valves soon because i am nearing 5000 miles now and that is when I am gonna do them.

You don't know if you are comfortable or not, since you haven't done it yet. You might start that job and never finish it. Just sayin'

That being said, I don't see why anyone with a reasonable amount of general skills with hand tools shouldn't be able to tackle it.
