Has anyone else out there looked into or tried "shock cutaway" bags like these: Saddlemen Drifter Saddlebag with Shock Cutaway (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/124/35233/ITEM/Saddlemen-Drifter-Saddlebag-with-Shock-Cutaway.aspx?WT.ac=SLIsearch)? I'm wondering if that might be a better way of mounting a bigger bag on a smaller bike.
I've removed my back seat so, I'm pretty much only looking at hard-mount bags. I've also been looking at the Willie and Max Revolution Grommet Saddlebags (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/124/27397/ITEM/Willie-and-Max-Revolution-Grommet-Hard-Mount-Saddlebags.aspx?WT.ac=SLIsearch)
By my measurement, I've got ~19" between my shock bolt, and my turn signal, and 14" from the top of my exhaust to the top of my rear fender.
