Hi there.
ecr595 sent me a PM, asking about my box. I tried to include pictures in the "reply" box, but it wouldn't allow JPG format, so I'm posting them here, for him. The box is a SHAD46. It's big enough for two helmets or a week's groceries. I've not had any problems with the weight (in over 4 years) It's the same box that water warrior's got on his bike. Some of the pictures make it look absolutely gigantic, but that's just the perspective of the photos. One word of warning - The box hinges forward to open, so you can't have a cissy bar, but if you carry passengers, that's no problem. My wife says that it's a better backrest than the cissy bar.b4.jpg[/attachment:29jhq7dj]b7.jpg[/attachment:29jhq7dj]b8.jpg[/attachment:29jhq7dj]b10.jpg[/attachment:29jhq7dj]

No, but if you can afford one they're very good. Worth every penny. :2tup:

A bigger trunk is a bigger visual clue for drivers to notice.

Watch out how you load it so you don't make the bike too top heavy.

I can't afford a new one, but I might give Craiglist or Ebay a try. When I have some extra cash.

Never, ever, had a problem. Even when carrying more groceries than I can carry comfortably, when I've unloaded them. :2tup:

What luggage rack is on your bike? Did you use a Suzuki rack and cut the backrest off ? [CMS Terry]

I've had at least 3 of the Givi knock-offs on Ebay and they are basically the exacy same thing, but 1/4 of the price.
Even on JC Whitney they are only $55 or so + shipping.

I bought a really nice top case on ebay for $29 and mounted it in my Ninja 250. It was a bargain.

Not exactly. Dunno the make, but it was basically a 3 part rack. Side brackets, backrest, luggage rack. I didn't instal the backrest, but had to manufacture packing pieces to replace the backrest bars (15mm square) as they were placed between the side brackets and the rack.b13.jpg[/attachment:1z71yg53]
This shows the original backrest and the packing pieces that I made. They're 15mm square, hollow bar, about 4" long, with 2 holes drilled for the bolts, and rubber plugs in the end.
