Looks good. The wheels and single seat change the appearance quite a bit.

If my old memory is working those wheels are from a Chinese knock-off of the GZ. Can't think of the actual manufacturer though.

Your right. It was a G.Z. with a 250 Honda rebel engine, with these wheels. There was a picture of it on here some time ago.Members were wondering if the wheels would fit the G,Z.I can't remember the name,or find the post.Damn it!!!
:??: O_o
EDIT:After much searching,I found It.
Chinese made Hensim is a GZ250 frame with a Rebel 250 engine and the wheels!!

I'm getting to the party late, but I was just going to confirm that they were from the Chinese GZ.

A guy in town has had one locked away in a storage building, that used to be an old store front, for at least a year and a half. I can't tell you how many times I called trying to take that thing off his hands, but he just isn't interested.

And if you have ever had to change tires, Rookie, you would be thanking the good Lord that you have mag wheels.

Looks nice.

When 3 spokes break and you have to buy a whole wheels worth at Suzuki prices the the mags look even better.

On sale for 1,849.00 U.S. The posted specs make it a very under powered bike with more weight than a GZ. Of course if that doesn't matter then go for it.

Here is the reply:

Dear sir:
we are not selling wheel for parts, sorry about it

Oh well, the dont want to make money !

They most likely don't have the part and are making the claim that it's simply "not for sale".

Most of the local small companies that sell these Chinese bikes here in the US simply don't have a consistent supply chain and they simply aren't knowledgeable enough in their own product to know how to order part for you.

I can't tell you how many times I've called "reputable" dealers in the area asking about parts for my Chinese bikes and I've known much more about what parts will fit than they do... It's too bad, really, because the product (the bike iteself) is worthy of a larger market in the US, but the sellers and even the owners are just full of misinformation and a lack of product support. If they would just run their shops like the Japanese dealers do, then there should be no real difference between the two. There should be real competition.

Wish I had your faith in Chinese bikes! Over here, the Lanvertti was so bad that the local bike shop where I bought it got my money back for me (brand new bike - one day on the road, 2 in the workshop ) I wasn't the only one with problems. When word got around, just how bad they were, the importers went bust & closed down.

What engine did that bike have?

When they first got here, they were all crap. You couldn't really give the first ones away (similar to Harley's in the early 70s and th Jap bike when they first showed up.)

But in the last 5 years or so, they have really found a groove. One of the best things about them is that even though they are sold under 100 different names, there are only really 5 engine being used; 3 Honda clones and 2 Yamaha clones. (The Honda Rebel engine, the Honda Helix engine, and the GY6. The Yamaha line has the Linhai 250 and the V-star 250)

So that makes maintenance and parts readily available, but people are under the belief that they cannot crossover parts, which is simply false. I've had several bike shops tell me that Helix parts won't work on my Helix clone engine... lo and behold, I order a Helix performance exhaust system and a helix thermostat housing and it bolts right up; like it was meant to fit... because it was.

The plastics are still touch and go. Some companies are selling top notch plastics and some are still using the brittle crap. But the carb, for example, on my Qlink, is a genuine Keihin CVK30 from Japan (stamped on the casing). It takes real CVK jets and other carb parts.

Here is a quick glance at two bikes. Tell me which one costs $10,000 and which one costs $2500.

It had a Honda engine. That was the only thing that gave no trouble. First off, the front brakes were juddering, so they (the local bike shop) ordered & fitted a new brake disc. This caused a clicking when the front brake was applied, so they fitted a complete wheel/ brake disk assembly. No better, so they sent it to the main importer/dealer. It came back minus the ABS unit. Then the temperature gauge stopped working. After that the fuel guage would stop on "full" until the tank was nearly empty, then drop suddenly to zero. The main fuse blew a couple of times for no apparent reason. The plastic was a joke. Then it started overheating. which for some reason overheated the brake fluid to the back brake, so that it became useless until it had been switched off for a couple of hours. They found that the cause of the overheating was a lack of water caused by a hole (which appeared to be a drilled hole!) just below the coolant pressure cap. They bunged the hole with epoxy & ordered a new part. A couple of days later the temperature shot up, & when i stopped & checked, there was no water in the system. I walked to the nearest garage & got a gallon of coolant, but as fast as I was pouring it in, it was pouring out from somewhere in the system that I couldn't see. Add to this tyres that would puncture if you put a nail a yard away from the tyres, & didn't have much traction, plus other problems that I can't remember.

It took me a couple of hours to get the 2 miles to the bike shop, riding until the temperature went up, then letting it cool down. When I got there, he said that he couldn't do anything until tomorrow. I told him not to bother, as there was no way I was going to take it out of the shop. He agreed that it was the biggest piece of shit that he had ever seen, & that my experience had convinced him to stop selling that make. He got me my money back, & for an extra €500 got me the GZ. :)

Yeah... guess I should re-read posts.

Well, while there are problems out there, there are plenty of examples of bikes that have lasted a good long time.

My CF moto has 15,000 on the clock and only one real part failure.

The only ones that are hanging around seem to be:

Lifan
Zongshen
CF Moto
Roketa

These are all established dealers in the US with a steady parts stream. If a big bike is going make a splash on the US market, it will come from one of these guys.

Actually, CF Moto is producing a 650 as we speak... in two different trim levels:

Hey My wife wants one of those, so they are pretty solid bikes I take it, if you have had only one problem in 15,000 miles.

What would you guys think if i painted my rims a flat black ?

Well, I painted my engine guard (it was badly rusted) a shiny black (to match the bike) & it looks fine. :)

I like chrome. So if they're not rusted then I'd say no. If you are going to change color then I say do it right and get them powdercoated.
