Hi there - I'm a new rider and have had my GZ250 for a few weeks now......
For some reason - when I hit the engine kill switch to shut her down - it backfires.
Is this something I need to worry about?
thanks!

do a carb clean and adjust your mixture screw down in 1/4 turn increments till it goes away. a ball park for the screw is 2 turns to 1 1/2 turns out

The backfire is caused by the lean jetting for the EPA requirements. If that is your only problem don't sweat it. Besides it is a great way to announce your arrival at Star Bucks. The Suzuki S-40(650 single) does the same thing and my friend just smiles and accepts the applause we give her upon a safe arrival.

This is not the exact carb, but the mixture screw is in the same place.(under the plug between the two screws.
