Hello, I have revamped and brought a bike that my wife let sit under a carport unused for 5 years. I have cleaned it replaced oil and spark plug and it seems to be running fine minus the enricher being a little messed up. All stock, for now Call Her " "Sade" the Shady Lady" nice bike was bought at 58 miles by my wife and she rode it around the house for about a year and got bored with it because insurance was expensive. Then i got it and haven't reset the odometer since I started it back up and got it going again.

Welcome to the forum. You should also add some "Sea Foam" or similar cleaner to the fuel to clean the carb.

Take your Shady Lady out for some fresh air and exercise. You may want to replace the tires if they are original.

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. Most people use the odometer as their fuel guage so they don't run out of gas. If you haven't already I'd recommend you take the MSF BRC (Motorocycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course) as it's good insurance for your safety. Ride safe.

You must have a pretty big house. I can barely ride mine into the garage. As others have noted, it'll run a hell of a lot better after you get a tankful or two through it. Have fun and keep the rubber side down.

I now have 850ish miles that I have added to her She is purring and the guy at the bike shop ask me why i was inquiring about getting the carb cleaned the other week it sounds great! but he is the only nearby place to buy parts for my boat or my bike so I have a feeling I will be seeing him alot! Cause my boat is a piece...
