Hi Everyone; I took the MSF BRC course a few years back and got discouraged looking for a bike and not finding one. Back on June 15th I found a blue 2003 GZ250 and bought it! :2tup: For the first few weeks I just rode around the neighborhood; we're somewhat separated from the rest of the town which is nice. A couple weeks ago I finally left our neighborhood and ventured out, but it has been during the least busy times like early morning or around 7PM. Last week I went for a ride in the afternoon up to my parents house which is a couple towns away and last weekend I went for a much longer ride; about 30+ miles. Had a great time and can't wait to feel more comfortable riding in more traffic. I know it will come in time as I ride more....

Thanks! I like blue too, it's part of the trouble I had in finding a bike. Once I decided to just get one, it ended up being blue. :)

Hi Mavrix, welcome to the forum. I also have 2 months experience and have put on 950 miles on my bike. You're right start out slow and get comfortable. This is a great bike and really helps to build your confidence. Have fun and Ride safe!

imo this is the best learners bike there is. one night following my girl we were merging on to the highway, im leaned over had with the throttle open. she brakes (for no apparent reason :cuss: ) and i panic and lock thr brakes. bike does not fuss or slide just stoped and its almost like it said " edan be more careful next time" and the light weight of the bike will be a huge help to you :2tup:

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. Since it's been a few years you should consider taking a refresher of the MSF BRC. Ride safe.

"Wow Rionna" is right! Nice, I have put on a little over 100 miles, but as I had said I was riding around a lot in my neighborhood which has very little traffic. Just practicing the basics.

Hello Marvix, Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you're on the right track to take it slow and get comfortable with your bike. Remember to wear gear that will allow you to be seen. Ride safe. GZBrian

Yeah, I was thinking of getting some sort of reflective something since my jacket is black... have any recommendations?

A reflective vest similar to a safety vest worn by road crews. You can also Goggle reflective tape and find many alternatives. Can't remember which one but one site had stick on tape for clothing. Also a few strips of tape on the bike will help some. On the helmet too.

This is the GZ Lynda road for 3 full seasons. It was a little brighter than when she first got it.
