Not sure if any of you are Eagles fans, or Eagles song fans (I am aware "The Dude" from Big Lebowski hates the effing Eagles) but I talked with Jack Tempchin (he wrote Peaceful Easy Feeling among other Eagle/Glenn Frey hits) on ocmusicscene if anybody's interested. Wasn't sure how popular it would be, but its turned out to be the most "liked" interview ever on the site...

You impress you with your interview guests.
But I must admit, the Eagles are one of those bands that make me feel nauseous when I hear them.... Pink Floyd is like that too.

The 70s were my decade for music, so I like the Eagles. I'm diggin' most of these interviews actually. So far the photo of the Bangles has been my favorite image.

I'm not sure if "I impress me" or not but you should at least let me speak for myself!

I understand that musical taste is what it is. Both Pink Floyd and The Eagles created very meticulously produced records. I like some of the Eagles and even some Don Henley but there's a lot of songs (long run, dirty laundry, get over it) that were less worthy.

Its hard for me to understand how anyone could not like Dark Side of The Moon, (esp if they are fond of weed) but perhaps it has been ruined by over play as have many classics.

To each his own. All of these folks have a lot of talent and are interesting to talk to, regardless of whether I like their music.

But yeah. I mean, I can certainly appreciate the idividual more than the music. And I think the very reason that those albums make me feel sick is because they were written by people who were stoned out of their minds. I'm sure Dark Side of the Moon is the best album ever, when your trashed.

I also can't stand the Beatles music, post-drugs.

You're Pink Floyd. I'm Buddy Holly. (I know Pink Floyd is not a person)

We-e-e-ll let's just say, it IS a pretty good soundtrack for cannabis related activities. I think part of your distaste can be attributed to overplay. The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Eagles have to be three of the most overplayed catalogues of all time. All three acts at one time held records (not THAT kind, the other kind) for weeks at number one or weeks on the charts or copies sold. I think Dark Side of the Moon and The Eagles Greatest Hits are two of the biggest selling records of all time, right up there with Thriller.

I bet you would have liked to meet Lee Rocker (did you read that one?) He plays in a style not too far removed from Buddy Holly and he was one of the nicest and smartest guys I've talked to.
