Finally got it on after spending all this Evening with my
own created mounting hardware ( half mine...half original )
and it was now about 1am in the morning when I did my test ride.
I can change the color later but for now it's just to see how it worked.

Too funny. 2nd last pic will answer the question.

Strelok, the fairing looks good. A nice size to match the bike and provide a little protection for the hands when needed. A matching color would make the bike very impressive.

For goodness sake don't let the bike go down. The first thing to happen would be a broken fairing. Not a good thing to happen to a great addition. :poorbaby:

I'm not a big fan of the looks of a windshield or fairings, but I understand that their usefulness outweighs their eye-sore...ness. Especially when I starting hitting the highways (which I haven't done yet) I think I'll need one of these. Be sure to let us know the cost of the paint job so we can have a bench mark. A little Google Shopping search shows that the basic setup starts around $150. The more I look at it the more I like it though. You gave me a different option. I didn't know these were available for this bike.

I saw those $119 and $149 Buy it Now eBay items, but why the price difference? Also the paperwork looks like it says FM-3 and they are advertised as FM-2, the plot thickens.

I think it looks great and will look even better once the color is matched. Good luck with it.

In the 1980s Shoei made Fairings, Saddlebags & Trunks of many sizes.
These are NOS ( New Old Stock ) brand new and never used but not
made anymore. The protection these provide for your head, body
and hands are outstanding. Not as asthetically appealing as a
naked Bike or using a clear windshield but a Motorcycle is
something to be ridden and not just to be looked at.

I'm really surprised how that blue color turned out in the pictures.
I need to take some in the daylight as it's actually a bit darker.
These come in white, black and blue available now on E-Bay.

The instructions shown are for the Shoei FM-2 and FM-3.
They are pretty much identical as far as the mounting
instructions show with the only exception being is the
FM-2 is 28 1/4" wide & 22 1/6" high and the FM-3
is 25" wide & 21" high. The handlebar mounts
are usable but I had to come up with longer
brackets to reach clamping on the turn
signals. I took pictures of that so
I will post them later. I'll be
glad to help anyone here.

Unless you're doing a total repaint I would suspect that you would have to have this professionally painted. The blue I have has a paint fleck and not just a solid color. I suppose that with the few catches that I have it might be a good idea to re-paint it all.

I'm going to wait to install my Shoei Saddlebags before I get to painting.
And savrip is right. Nothing to do with a Paint Can. I'm going to have to
get that exact Suzuki color and have everything professionally done right.

Okay...here's the pictures I promised of my off-the-shelf Home Depot
mounting hardware that needed to be a lot longer than what it came with.
Pretty self-explanatory from the pictures. I just used an ordinary Door Bracket
with a Clamp to go on the Turn Signals with another smaller Clamp widened with
one end sandwiched between the larger Clamp and the other end attached on the long
Bracket that also attaches at the other end of it to the bolts that mount up the Headlight.
I used longer 6mm Bolts ( than those shown in pictures ) on the other parts but I did use the
supplied 6mm Bolts that connect up by the Headlight. Wrapped the Brackets with Electrical Tape
and I used plenty of neoprene gaskets, metal washers & 6mm nuts with secondary back-up wing nuts.
The Clamps ended up being at the 12'oclock position up on the Turn Signals to make it a perfect sized fit.
I'm really amazed how quickly and easily this all worked out the first time I did it. If I can do it so can you.

Note: The 3rd picture shown was the theory. In practice I had to reverse the Bracket
from that shown. The Bracket hole was on the lower edge that fitted on top of the
Turn Signal with the Bracket hole mounting by the Headlight on the upper edge.

Good looking job! I ride in ANY weather so I can appreciate a good fairing. Both of my Beemers are fairinged (is that a word???).

faired? Anyway, I think it kind of rocks, too. If it was white it might look like a mini police bike!

Dude, I actually kinda dig that look!!!!
I have a black GZ that I'm blacking out most of the chrome stuff and a flat black fairing like that would look SICK!!!!
Like some crazy 80's Japanese custom job!!!!

I can't see your pictures. Just little question marks. It may be because I'm on my iPad, but still, I so want a fairing on mine as well to help block the weather and to go with the cruiser look I am working on.
Well that and when the wife steals the bike she will appreciate it more too. I really want one that is all black except for part of the windshield (does that make sense?).
