I have no experience with tailbags but I will suggest checking with "MotorcycleGear.com and at the Nelson-Rigg website. Look for the dimensions of the bags and go from there.

Do you have a sissy bar and luggage rack on the bike, and a full face helmet? If so, just put the helmet over the top of the sissy bar and cable lock it to the bar through the chin guard. A trigger gun lock with a short cable, sometime free from the local police dept, is just the right length for that.

mrlmd1 thanks for the reply.. i have a tail rack but no sissy bar. i want to protect the helmet from the elements and prevent getting the shield scratched as it will sit in the parking lot all day long

thanks...safe riding

Lock it on anyway with a cable lock, even if you put it in a bag. Most of the helmets come with a soft cover or bag, you can lock it onto the rack and cover it up anyway. The covers are small enough to scrunch up and put them in your jacket pocket or inside the jacket or sleeve when you are riding.

Excellant idea. A bicycle type cable lock is an effective way to secure the helmet. I have 2 on the Vstrom and use them the odd time. The cables are light but will deter a would be thief. Cheap and effective security.
