Bike not starting, audible "click"

Hey ya'll,

I'm having a problem getting my GZ to start. When I turn the key to "on" with the bike in neutral, the lights will come on, the neutral light will light up, etc. But when I turn the key, It clicks once and doesn't turn over. I've charged the battery myself, and also had it checked by batteries plus. It is currently fully charged. I don't believe this is battery related.

I checked the fuses near the battery, one was blown, which I replaced, but it didn't affect the problem.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to tell where the click is coming from?

If your battery checks out fine than you have a poor connection.Check to be sure all connections are clean & tight.Don't forget the connection at the starter under the rubber boot.

Check to see if that fuse has blown again. Which one was it? A loose battery connection can create a sparking, clicking sound, or you have a short somewhere that arced (spelling?), or maybe that click was the fuse blowing. If it's blown again, you obviously have a short somewhere so you have to start tracing wires along the frame or in the headlight bucket.

If it is a fuse be thankful it is blowing rather than melting down wiring and setting the bike on fire. Best heed the previous post, start checking for loose connections, worn insulation on any wiring and the inside of the headlight bucket. Any wiring along the backbone of the frame under the tank is always suspect. Also check the steering head area where the wiring harness bends and twists when the bars are turned back and forth.

if you have a volt meter you can just check fror power at the starter with the button pushed, if theres 12 v repalce or rebult starter

also the cluck is prop the starter soloniod, that noise is normal. you should be able to trace it from the pos batt cable
